Only from Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever sends one blessing upon me, Allah sends ten upon him." — Sahih Muslim 408

This is the Salawat recited within every Salah. When the Companions asked how to send blessings upon him, the Prophet ﷺ taught them this exact wording.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin wa ala ali Muhammadin kama sallayta ala Ibrahima wa ala ali Ibrahima innaka Hamidun Majeed. Allahumma barik ala Muhammadin wa ala ali Muhammadin kama barakta ala Ibrahima wa ala ali Ibrahima innaka Hamidun Majeed.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and his family — You are truly Praiseworthy and Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and his family as You blessed Ibrahim and his family — You are truly Praiseworthy and Glorious.

Short Salawat

Sahih Bukhari 3370 · Sahih Muslim 405
A brief form of salutation, suitable to repeat often throughout the day.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَىٰ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ
Allahumma salli wa sallim ala nabiyyina Muhammad
O Allah, send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad.

Salawat of Intercession (Wasilah)

Sahih Bukhari 614 · Sahih Muslim 384
The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever recites this after hearing the Adhan will be granted his intercession on the Day of Judgement.
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَٰذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ آتِ مُحَمَّدًا الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَّحْمُودًا الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ
Allahumma Rabba hadhihid-da'watit-tammati was-salatil qa'imati, ati Muhammadanil-wasilata wal-fadilata wab'ath-hu maqaman mahmudanil-ladhi wa'adtah
O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the prayer about to be established, grant Muhammad the intercession and the excellence, and raise him to the praised station You have promised him.

Salawat Encouraged on Fridays

Sahih Muslim 384
A longer form of salutation the Prophet ﷺ encouraged sending abundantly, especially on Fridays.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي الْعَالَمِينَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin abdika wa rasulika kama sallayta ala ali Ibrahima wa barik ala Muhammadin wa ala ali Muhammadin kama barakta ala ali Ibrahima fil alamina innaka Hamidun Majeed
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad, Your servant and messenger, as You blessed the family of Ibrahim, and bless Muhammad and his family as You blessed the family of Ibrahim among all the worlds — You are truly Praiseworthy and Glorious.

What are the five confirmed names of the Prophet ﷺ from Sahih Hadith?
From Sahih al-Bukhari 3532 and Sahih Muslim 2354, the Prophet ﷺ himself named five: Muhammad (the praised one), Ahmad (the most praised), Al-Mahi (through whom disbelief is erased), Al-Hashir (at whose feet mankind will be gathered), and Al-Aqib (the last Prophet). Why do we send Salawat on the Prophet ﷺ?

Is "Habibullah" (Beloved of Allah) a confirmed hadith name?
Habibullah is a widely used and much-loved title, referenced in narrations such as Tirmidhi 3616 and discussed in classical scholarly works, though it isn't among the five names the Prophet ﷺ used to describe himself directly. It reflects a station scholars widely affirm even where the specific wording comes through secondary chains.
Is there a reward for learning these names?
There's no single hadith promising a specific reward for memorising all 99 names and titles as a list — unlike the 99 Names of Allah, where such a hadith exists. That said, learning these names is valued as a way to deepen love and knowledge of the Prophet ﷺ, and many are drawn directly from the Quran itself.
Why are some names repeated, like "Ash-Shahid" or "Ash-Shafi"?
A few titles appear more than once in different compiled lists because they're drawn from different verses or hadith with slightly different contexts — for example "Ash-Shahid" (the Witness) is mentioned both in relation to witnessing over his Ummah in this life and testifying on the Day of Judgement.
